I found this video so informative and enlightening I had to send this to my friends. I checked out these budget numbers also on the White House website-Office of Management & Budget. I have never heard the federal budget explained in such simple terms (see youtube video link below). We can’t continue down the path of deficit spending and we must get federal spending under control. We need to elect people willing to tackle this problem and solve it once and for all.
If you will watch this 5 minute video you will be a much more informed citizen and voter.
Yet, here in Colorado, where we’ve got only ONE Republican candidate facing an extremely well-funded, ultra-left-wing Democrat, the Republican Party says they won’t give any money to their ONLY elected candidate, Kevin Lundberg, until his “grass-roots” supporters “pony-up” $100K. Okay, I don’t get it. Does the Republican Party want Jared Polis to win?
This Nation began, and lives, at the local level. I don’t know about you, but I’m voting with my dollars! I’m sending them to local candidates, not the state and national party machines!
I guess that makes me…an Independent???
GOP – (Grand Old Party, aka Republican Party)
RNC – Republican National Committee
NRCC – National Republican Congressional Committee
NRSC – National Republican Senatorial Committee
President Obama’s proposed tax hike on “the rich” is deceitful … no real help for our fiscal problems.
President Obama’s proposed tax hike on American’s making over $250,000 per year is estimated to bring in about $85 billion dollars a year in additional revenue. But in the last nine months alone our debt has increased by almost a trillion dollars ($1.2 trillion per year). Our total debt is now close to $16 trillion. The Federal Government spends $85 billion in eight and a half days.
Let’s put all this into a perspective we can understand. Let’s say your family owes $16,000 and you’re borrowing even more at the rate of $100 per month ($1,200 per year). But…you’ve got a plan! You’re going to talk your friend Harry into giving you $85 a year (he’s rich – he won’t mind giving me some). How is that going to make even a dent in your debt? And, you know what? I’ll bet you’re not going to use that $85 to pay on your debt anyway.
The proposed tax increase will directly hit the 3.5% of Americans who report “small business income”. Doesn’t sound like many, does it? But, did you know those very people account for more than half of the nation’s $1.3 trillion of small business income? Looking for a job? Don’t expect these people to be hiring you anytime soon.
